Sarah had her baby boy! Isaiah is here!!

Nathan & Sarah are the proud parents of a beautiful son Isaiah Stephen. Isaiah was a whopping 9.5lbs and 21 1/2" long. Sarah did a wonderful job and is recovering at Arrowhead Hospital. Isaiah has dark brown hair and is the cutest little thing. I was privileged to witness and help my daughter give birth to her first child. She is doing a wonderful job as a mommy. Nathan has done a fabulous job as well of taking care of both of them.

Waiting on Isaiah

We're waiting on Isaiah. He was due last Thursday. It seems he's quite satisfied where he's at. He's obviously in no hurry to get here. Thankfully Sarah is content to let him come when he's ready. No intervention to start labor. We've been hanging out playing Farkle and Dutch Blitz, watching movies, and surfing the internet. Enjoying our time together but we're ready for Isaiah to make his big arrival. Come on little dude! Grandma is waiting!!

Today is Isaiah's due date!

Today is Sarah's due date for her first little one. Things are happening in the labor dept. so I'm heading over them hoping that Isaiah wants to meet his grandma badly enough that he'll make an entrance. ASAP. :-)

Please pray for her that everything goes quickly and smoothly.

Some princesses showed up at the door.

One thing the girls like to do is dress up as princesses. Sometimes they wear a piece of clothing on their hair to represent long hair. I'll take a picture sometime so you can see what I mean. In the mean time these are pretty darn cute.
Anna with red lipstick that she put on all by herself without a mirror. :-) Mulu

I am not scatterbrained.

My friend Debbie was tellling me how my wonderful husband, I won't hold this against you Hon, mentioned that I am quite scatterbrained lately. I instantly protested. "I am not scatterbrained!"

I no sooner get home and see this darling husband of mine and tell him that I am not scatterbrained. I also explain that most women would not be able to do all the things I do and he agrees. I tell him that I just have a lot to keep track of. He agrees.

So the question comes. Where's Jesse? We know that Jesse was just behind us at church. "Sarah, Do you know where Jesse is?" "No," she replies. The question goes around the room. Okay so no one knows where Jesse is. "Joe, hand me the phone," Steve says. "Jesse, where are you?" "I'm at Isaac's." Ummmmm......"Oh yeah," I say sheepishly, "I forgot he told me he was going to Isaac's." I get this look from Steve that says YOU ARE SCATTERBRAINED!!!! He wasn't going to say it, but I know he was thinking it!!!

Steve says, I can see if he told you last week, but he told you tonight! I protest because is forgetting something the same as being scatterbrained? I don't know. I explain that when he told me he was going to Isaac's I was making some very important quilting decisions. I was deciding if I should put the black square next to this creme square or next to the green square ? Does the burgandy need some purple or black next to it?

Just don't tell me anything important. I might just give you a blank stare. I don't think anyone is home in my brain lately. If you see me wandering around just point me to someone in my family. They'll know what to do with me.

Our son gradutates

Steve, Jesse and I flew up to Sacramento early Friday morning. Miranda met us at the airport. Unfortunately she had a flat tire that morning and had to handle it on her own since Jared was at the ------. We got to the ----- with just enough time to see our cadet in formation with the other 131 cadets.

We, of course, waved frantically at Jared yelling, "Hi son!!!!", "Hi son!!!" He cracked a very faint smile to let us know he saw us, and we tried to behave and not get him into trouble. The cadets then marched off to get cooled off in the rec room since it was about 90* outside and they had these wool jackets on. HOT!

We found our seats in the auditorium and waited for the ceremony to begin. We were so excited and proud of him. He made it. He ranked tenth in a class of 131. 49 cadets dropped out, 4 women out of 18 made it. This program is tough and as was stated they are "the elite of the elite."

After the ceremonies he went back to his room to change and we walked around the campus a little. We found the Museum and couldn't resist taking his picture with a picture. He did get a season on DVD at his party from his friend Jim. (along with some of those great cop glasses) We also went over to watch the motorcycle and car show. My little boys would have went crazy. The guys and (girl) driving were spectacular. Amazing is the only word to describe them!

She drove us back to the airport so he could finish packing. They were driving back since his car was there. We waited at the airport for hours and wished we were home. We saw our good friend Mark on the plane when we walked on. I was so happy to see him. p>

Saturday we threw a party for him. Lots of friends came. Faces we hadn't seen in a long time. I was so happy that if I were a balloon I would have burst!

Now they're off to the Bahamas for a short cruise and he reports to duty next Monday.
